My default units are decimal inches. I would like my alternate units for dimensions to be decimal feet. Currently the only option is mm. Is it possible to change this to decimal feet? Or feet and inches?

Thanks for your reply, but that's not what I am looking for - I was too brief, sorry. If you double click on a dimension you get the window that starts with the "primary precision" option, followed by a check box "Alternate units".

If this is checked, dimensions are quoted in the units defined by the prefference you pointed me to, and again in different units - specifically in mm. Looks like this.

It is the units of this second bracketed version that I wish to change.

No that changes the primary - rather than "alternate" - units. The "alternate" toggles when you do this automatically. I think the deigners were thinking "alternate" as toggling between Imperial and Metric, rather than a more general set of choices. OK I will just have to work with what is. Thanks for looking at this with me.

Im sorry, I don't understand the question. What dialogue are you referring to? My problem is I don't know if there is a dialogue that does what I want. My desire is to select the "Primary units" as - say - inches ' which is no problem. Then when I select the "Alternative units" box (shown earlier) to have (say) decimal feet added to the inches dimension. As it is the alternative (second) version is shown in mm. Is there dialogue / setting somewhere that allows changing the alterate units to 'user choice'. The key here is to allow the selection of primary and alternate units independantly.

@petermat sorry for the confusion. I was looking at the dimensions present in a sketch in the design workspace. But, I believe you are referring to the dimensions in drawing space. If yes, currently drawing supports only two units. So the option of an alternate unit selection is not valid in the context. However, the concerned team is working on an enhancement to support more units in the drawing workspace. So the option you are looking for may be available in one of the future releases.
