Yes you need a component for each body.

Hi,

I would like to generate a set of drawings suitable for sending for laser cutting from a sheet metal model that has multiple bodies, each of which is a sheet metal part.

I can see how to turn each part one by one into a flattened panel and create a drawing, but is there a more automated way to do this to get all the flattened part drawings?

Are the F360 drawings suitable for sending to a laser cutter or is there a way to export a dxf of just the cutting profile?

I am open to better workflow suggestions

Model attached

Edit: I am using the free F360, it looks like dxf export is not available for me?

I think you can export a DXF from within the flat pattern workspace so you could make 2d drawings and save as PDF and also supply a DXF of each part.

It turns out you cant convert a sheet metal body to a component. So I guess that is tomorrows job, restructure the model into components...

Thankyou for your workaround. Initially I thought I would still go back and make new components so the sketches would be with the components, but then I realised you cannot transfer things from the feature tree between components so would have mean redrawing sketches and starting from scratch.

I have converted all my bodies into sheet metal components by your method.
