topic how can I move a body to be tangent to a cylinder body in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

I'm still learning Fusion and so far my designs are single bodies that will be either milled or 3D printed. The current project is one where I need to align a body that will be tangent to a cylinder (brass cylinder surrounding the threaded area). I'm working to design the component that screws into the threaded area. In order to draw that part I need the battery clip moved to the correct location in relation to the brass piece. That new body will be 3D printed and will hold the battery contact shown on the right. The idea is that the bent tabs on the contact need to be touching the brass sleeve so that it makes contact. As first start I drew a tangent plane off the cylinder then offset it 0.080" which is where the back of the contact body should be. So far that plan hasn't worked out very well. Even if I succeed in moving the back to the contact to the plane It still needs to be aligned with the axis of the cylinder. I've tried to use move on the body, but without success.

What is the best way to move the right part to be tangent to the cylinder so that the bent tabs make contact?

I'll upload the design but I can't figure out how to add it.

Sketch on the axis plane of the cylinder, project > Intersect the cylinder wall, gives you something to work from.

Please upload the design. Open it in Fusion 360, select the File menu, the Export and save it to your hard drive. You can attach it by using the "Reply to the Topic" method which stills offers the Browse feature to attach files.

I wonder if the upload file is only for subscribers. I'm in the personal use / hobby category. All I see is this to insert a screencast. I think I was able to upload files on previous posts.

You are working to attach your file to a Forum post, it has nothing to do with Fusion 360 license types. You failed to read and follow my last post. I have added a Screencast to show the process of attaching your model file once you have saved it to your hard drive.

Luckily, you do not have just bodies, you have components. This allows for easy placement of Joint Origins and then a Rigid Joint to place your two components perfectly in place. I did not know exactly where you wanted the clip vertically but I showed you how to adjust the Joint Origin so you can place it anywhere you desire. Model is attached.
