How to edit a copied body?

In the attached file, I made a copy of the body USB 3 and named it USB 2. I'd like to change the diameters of some of the pieces of USB 2, but can't figure out how as there are no unique sketches to modify, only the ones used to create USB 3. Any tips? Should I have taken a different route from copying USB 3? Thanks.

yes, that is correct. Copy Body does only what it says it does - it copies the body, not the feature recipe used to make the body. However, if you had made USB 3 a separate component instead of just a body, you could have done Copy and Paste New to get a copy of the feature recipe for that component.

I'm having the same issue, and Copy-Paste isn't doing it, nor creating a new component from the copied body. I can't independently edit the hole in the copy. It goes back to the original and wants to edit that.

if you have it all in a componet (all the sketches and features), then copy/paste NEW.

doing a regular paste creates an instance of the component. instances are linked to each other.

What you're saying makes sense. I did see that the previous answer had included "new", but I'm not finding that anywhere in the menu, just copy, cut, and paste.

are you copying a component, or just a body?

where are you right clicking? you can't paste back into the originating component, try right clicking at the top level.

in addition to models, pics of your process are nice also.

I was just trying to copy a body, but I've since found the "paste new" menu item. Still having issues. In the attached screen shot, I now have two components with the body in them, and another copy that's not in a component. I'm trying to edit one of the copies to turn the base of one into a knob for the top of the handle (3D print model). I'm really new to Fusion, and the books I have on it stink.

Oh, what I didn't say was that any time I try editing the hole in one of the copies, it reverts to the original and wants to modify it instead. That sounds like an instance, not an independent body.
