Hello

I am very new to Fusion 360. Love the product so far and can't wait to learn more each day. I am trying to understand why my printer slicer is not printing the wall thickness I am asking to print. Here is what I have:

It is a hollow cube where the wall thickness is supposed to be 0.4 mm

The body measures 20mm x 20mm x 20 mm height.

I have tried both the shell command as well as extruding an offset. Regardless of what I do, my cube prints perfectly 20 x 20 x 20 but the wall thickness is not 0.4 but 0.8.

When I am done with my object, I tried to export the body to STL and then import that into Cura. Regardless of what I do, the wall prints too wide. I have also tried exporting the file, instead of the body, and same thing. I have also tried exporting the file as 3mf type, but it does the same thing. I have even tried to put all my dimensions into variables and still the same thing.

I don't think I need to tune the printer, as I have done extensive tuning already. the cube prints exactly 20 x 20 x 20 (outside dimensions) which is what I designed as.

I am sure I am doing something stupid 😞

So what is the wall setting? Some slicers count perimeter walls, some are dimensions.

Some have a special setting to turn on.

Might help.....

Can your printer print .4mm wide? The minimum on mine is .5mm with a .3 nozzle.

Hi

Regardless of what I set the number of lines per wall, it will still print more than two lines. One setting that seems to have a positive effect is the line width. If I set it to 0.3 then I can get a thinner wall. I am starting to think that this is an issue with the slicers and not 3D fusion. I am going to do some tests and will report back. If anyone knows the answer 100%, I would really appreciate it.

Not a Fusion problem,

try that setting at 0.4mm,

1mm is default - 2.5 walls, Slicer decides to do 2 or maybe 3 walls in that case.

Might help....
