Hi

I try to rotate a body around its z-axis (and not move it in any direction).

I would expect that as soon as I click the move-typ "rotate" the origin (x, y and z-axis) of the body would be shown, but there is nothing.

Can anybody please help me?

Thank you.

Alain

You must select an axis first.
This can be an edge of a body.

Thank you guys for your tips.

Doesn't a body have its own origin (like in any other 3d-Software)?

This origin in my case should be the center of gravity, isn't this possible?

Joints? Is that something to smoke? Haha 🙂

Sorry, I'm jost joking.
Thank you, I will give it a try.

Just a sitenote that reminds me to the term of "joints":
Why does Autodesk call a function "move/copy" if there is also "rotating" behind it?
"Transform" instead of "move/copy", from my point of view, would generate less confusion 😉

Excuse me if I understood something wrong.

A Body does not have an origin. A Component does have an origin - that origin will move with the component when it is positioned (with a Joint or Move Component, etc). That component origin, however, has nothing to do with the Component's center of gravity/mass
