As you can see there are many ways to create models in Fusion 360. You asked for a "cylinder" and you show a cup. I will demonstrate using a Surface Loft to create you taper cylinder. You did not specify the height or the wall thickness but you can edit those to suit from the timeline. Model is attached.

I created a cylinder with fusion 360. Now i want the bottom of the cylender with a width of 28.00 mm and the top a with of 30.00 mm. How can i do this?

See picture below. The last one shows the cylinder from the side, so you can get a better understanding what i want to achive.

Put a centre line into that line drawing, as a fusion sketch, and Revolve one side of the sketch.

or you can do the maths, and extrude a circle with taper angle

or you can draw 2 circles, at the right spacing and Loft them together

or you can modify > Draft, but again you need the Maths.

By now you should have an idea that Cylinder command is fairly useless, in a sketch based modelling system.

Might help.....

John I followed your directions and it worked perfectly for what I was doing....up to the thickening section. When it indicates select a surface, I have tried every which way to select the cone, and nothing happens. I followed the basic example you put up.

Suggestions?

Tom Combs.

Sounds like you used the Blue (solid) Loft tool, (solid bar?)

For surface modelling you have to change to Orange Icon Loft (hollow tube?)

Might help...

John thanks for help. As a true beginner I was stumped with your comment on the blue line and red line, but looking it up I discovered there is a whole different loft in two places "solid" and "Surface" - Who would have thought. Thanks again your demonstration was a great help.

Tom Combs
