How can i turn off the model from highlighting when i mouse over it? If i have sketch dimensions on a model face but mouse over the model, and not the sketch dimension on the model, it turns white blocking any visibility of the sketch.

Not moused over:

The highlighting of faces when you mouse over is a core function in Fusion 360 and I doubt if there is a way to turn it off, nor do you really want to. I suggest a different workflow. It is probably a rare occasion when you have this situation so why not simply touch on the Body visibility icon and turn the body off temporarily to see your sketch or simply rotate the view to the sketch side. The sketch can be viewed from either side of the plane, the text is the same.

When you turn off the model, the now invisible model faces still light up when moused over. I don't care that it does this. I care that it washes out literally everything in line with that face.

Of course it is if you hover over the Browser at any level. Doing this is the same thing as hovering over the body or component in the design workspace. Turn off the visibility of the body that is hiding your sketch and work on it in the design workspace, do not hover over anything in the browser.

If you want no highlighting if you hover over a model body or component as well as when you hover over the body or component in the Browser, you are out of luck!

Your Screencast shows your problem. You have "Auto Project Geometry on Active Sketch Plane" in your Preferences turn on. So when you created the small rectangle sketches, on the back face, the outside edge of the circle was projected and created a Profile. You have "Show Projected Geometries", on your Sketch Palette, unchecked and have "Show Profile" checked so that is what you are seeing as you pass over the body area in the design workspace, the profile of the complete circle which seems to you is the body showing up. My Screencast will try and explain it better.

Its October 2022. Many have requested the chose from disabling highlighting when hovering. A halo around the cursor would satisfy both those wanting to highlight a face on hover and those not wanting to see the entire face be highlighted. It is blinding to see large faces in the background be highlighted all the time when the drawing is not that of a few bodies. Its not a highlight anymore, for its a constant bright light. As been stated, the option exist on other software.

The fix is in.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/can-i-turn-off-the-selection-preview-while-hovering-over-my/m-p/9938823/highlight/false#M234763

I'm not sure that this is the same thing but, it hits a lot of the same search terms. What I'm finding annoying is when I'm working on a sketch, every time I mouse over a profile area, it highlights blue. This behavior stops if I turn off "Show Profile" in the Sketch Palette. But, what I want is for this feature to automatically turn off when editing a sketch and turn back on when done editing the sketch. This seems like it should be an obvious default behavior. Don't we generally extrude after finishing our sketches? But somehow F360 doesn't appear to work this way. Am I missing something? (And I don't remember this being so annoying a few versions back. Is this new?? Can't be.)

I have the same issue. its very annoying having faces light up when hovering... its enough to trigger epilepsy. Uselectable should mean unselectable, like locked but visible...Then this can only be reactivated in the outliner tree. To disable the body is a pretty rudimentary solution because making objects invisible is not the best solution if wehat you are doing requires reference to that object..
