extrude cut through multiple components when their sketches are orthogonal

I have multiple components abutting one another, and one of them (Leg) uses a sketch (in the x-z plane) that includes a circle which I used to cut a hole in the component that is the parent of the sketch. Another of the components (Hub) that was extruded from a sketch in the x-y plane) needs to have this same hole be extended through it. I am under the impression that it is impossible to project the hole from the x-z sketch of Leg onto Hub's sketch in the x-y plane -- if I could then I could accomplish the cut in Hub.

Help would be much appreciated.

Please indicate which sketch (name) and which body it is.

You can use any sketch to extrude a hole in any component. Whether or not this is a good practice is a different question😁

I figured it out (finally!) -- I simply had to hide all the bodies, etc., that weren't important for the operation so that I was able to select the object I needed to extrude.

Hi,

It is not necessary to hide bodies, but to activate the sketches for extrusion, as I did in the screencast.

As @g-andresen says, it's not necessary to hide the bodies, although that can make it easier to make sure only the desired bodies are cut. When you have multiple bodies in the extrude path, expand Objects To Cut in the Extrude dialog:

p.s. I've made it a habit to expand the Objects To Cut whenever I do an extrude. It saves a lot of swearing when hidden parts show up in the dialogue😁
