In this multiple coil body, I used a 3D Sketch Sweep to join the coil ends together on the top and bottom of the coils. This gives a lot smoother transition than a Loft feature. I only did one take-off end using surfaces and a Face Split to get my sweep path. It is not a 1-2-3 step process but it gives you the best results. If you find you like the looks and need any help in the process, I will be glad to add a Screencast. Model is attached.

Hello there,

I want to ask you on some helpful tips regarding coil design.

I am currently working on an electronic device model that contains multiple custom coils of exact wire thickness, number of windings and length. I know there is a coil function that allows me to create this and it would be possible to calculate the distance between those coils and create it that way. The problem is that those coils would not be connected (representing one piece of a wire), it would be just a number of individual bodies (each one of them representing one winding). So I want to ask you if its even possible to make such model using Fusion 360, and if so, I would like you to share your tips with me or possibly even some tutorials.

Thanks in advance.

You do not give enough information to give you an answer. You mention multiple coils that you want connected but you do not mention how you want them connected, if the wire size is the same between the coils and a other needed information. Attached is a model, consisting of one coil body created from two coils of the same wire size arrange at some arbitrary angle.

Give a more detail to your request with screen captures or pictures of what you really need including wire size(s), arrangement needs, etc.

Thank you for your reply. I've now attached the photos of what I want to achieve. The cross-section shows better what I need to do, the other pictures of the solid body shows the best result I've been able to achieve so far using loft to connect individual windings of the separate coil bodies. But I believe there must be a more elegant way of doing this, since this looks both ugly and is quite time-consuming considering some coils I have to design would have a lot of windings (i.e. individual coils to connect).
