yes, I can verify that using parameters with "$" in the name, if used in an equation, will incorrectly come across in Derive.

Derivation of parameters containing the "$" character fails

Since global variables aren't implemented yet I am using the "Variable derivation" workflow (described in this post).
To sum it up you create a parts folder with parameters (that may also be equations using said parameters), then use the derive feature on the favourite parameters to access all variables in multiple parts folders.
This worked well for me with parameters not involving equations: these are renamed with the suffix "_Ref" but are usable as such (read only) in the assemblies.

However I could not get it to work in equations: the automatic renaming wouldn't translate to variables inside of the equations. For example the expression "a$100+a$200" (with a$100 and a$200 being in mm) stored in the parameter p$100 would be derived to the parameter p$100_Ref, but the expression would remain "a$100+a$200".

Notice that I used "$" as a separator in the variable names. It turns out the character is allowed by the parameter window but removing it from the parameter names returned the behaviour to the expected ie. p100_Ref=a100_Ref+a$200_Ref.

Can someone confirm this is a bug (or intended behaviour that I don't quite grasp)?

I would suggest removing "$" from the permitted characters (if that doesn't break anything), or to fix the behaviour if variables contain the "$" caracter.

Best regards,
