Hi everyone,

I've made a simple bell crank assembly consisting of the bell crank, a slider, and a wheel and handle. I've figured out the joints so that the components move appropriately but my problem is the the wheel seems to only be able to turn a limited number of degrees. I also want to be able to select the handle and turn it with my mouse so that the mechanism moves but I'm unable to do this.

I'm able to move both the bell crank and the slider with my mouse so I'm guessing the issue lies somewhere with the wheel joint.

Any advice is much appreciated! File attached below.

Thank you for pointing that out! Seems I've made a couple errors like this since I was just making up the design as I went along. I believe I've made the necessary corrections to fully define my sketches but I'm still having my initial issue. Any other suggestions? (If not, your help was appreciated nonetheless)

I believe they are but I could be wrong; I could share the files if that might be helpful.

I do have multiple components that were created in one file(wheel w handle, slider, pin that goes between bell crank and slider) without defined joint relationships because it was causing more trouble to try and define the joints before putting them in the final assembly. This doesn't seem to cause an issue for the slider around the wheel's pin and for turning the wheel slightly though, so I would think it wouldn't be the cause of my main issue.

Best practice probably would have been to create the slider in a separate file but I was just trying to do a quick exercise.

oop, sorry to answer the other questions:
- There's no unique solution and this is not a school assignment: just trying to improve my CAD skills on my own.
- This design isn't based on anything specifically; I just wanted to use a bell crank so I was making stuff up as I went along.
- The pin & slot size could definitely be the issue so let me get back to you on that.

You have a number of problems in your only sub-assembly. You also are using the wrong type of Joint between the slotted arm and the wheel pin. The Screencast will show all. As pointed out you have yellow showing in your timeline you need to address. Model is attached.
