Hello guys,

getting ready to wrap the year up, and starting to do some cleanup and thinking on how to handle the new year.

Currently I do not organize files in F360 the way that F360 probably wants it to be done.

I know we can archive project folders. Currently I just have a project level folder for each customer, and then i put a job number on each subfolder in the customer folder.

the major drawback here is that I have folders with hundreds of subfolders at this point. I'm not sure if i like archiving jobs either. but maybe im looking at this the entirely wrong way. we have jobs that don't have part numbers and all sorts of random Job Shop stuff going on, so job number is really the only way i have to organize at the moment i believe.

how does everyone keep track of files and such in F360? should i give the archiving feature a go? I feel it won't be a smooth transistion, and would be hard to get some people here to do it.

I have worked with clients who use a similar system but have an extra layer of folders for "Upcoming", "Current", "On Hold" and "Completed" jobs. it means you can move all the completed jobs to the completed folder and not see them unless you specifically choose to!
It adds an extra click every time is the only drawback but it depends on how often/how many files you go through a day!
