Only rotate Pin-Slot at maximum and/or minimum

Hello!

I'm trying to model a test fixture we are using at work to test PCB. Since we are not producing the fixture itself but rather the plates that go in the fixture the model doesn’t need to be 100% accurate, but I would like it to act like the real thing to make sure our designs are within the limits of the fixture and to show of nice renderings to customers (and the boss).

The lid on the fixture opens like a normal lid, but for the last couple of cm it moves linear perpendicular to the plate. My idea was to use the pin-slot joint tool to make it slide up and down, then rotate at its maximum. But I have not been able to achieve this with pin-slot, nor any other function. Any idea if this is possible? or possible through another method?

there is no way to enforce this kind of restriction in the basic Joint solver. You can simulate that with a Motion Study, but you cannot enforce it in a Joint itself.

I have included my model that I used in the Screencast for you to try. Basically I am introducing a component, that hides inside the pivot, that you can use to apply two different Joints to, one Pin and Slot and one Revolve. The Pin and Slot is between the hidden component and the track and the Revolve is between the hidden component and the table axle. You should be able to use the same concept on your assembly model.
