I am hoping I understand you question. In the Screencast I show you what is missing to get you rounded corners to appear in the profile. Model is attached.

By the way, your sketches are not fully constrained and dimensions.

Rounding edges

Question on rounding edges. While doing this on a couple inside corners it work rather easily to create a circle in my project and then draw out straight lines from my edges to the bottom of the project and cut out what I didn't need. Each of the intersecting lines created a point of which I could select the segments I didn't need.

However when using a similar technique and creating a circle in a corner where I wanted to form the outer rounded end for some reason where the lines intersect it will not let me cut just that portion of the line. At one point I found that my circle I added wasn't on the same level as the main material. I attempted to match that up but it still wouldn't work.

I will attach my project here. If anyone could steer me in the right direction on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

It is better to create fillets on the edges of the body.
1. delete circles
2. close the gap with the extension tool
3. extrude profile
4. create fillets on body edges

Screencast

günther

That's exactly what I was talking about! Just the easiest thing too. I believe I actually deleted some of them due to not knowing what they were.. lol

When I put that large radius in I believe it did that automatically and I was just able to cut out what I didn't need. So that was where I struggled when the outside corner rounding didn't work.

Adding "tangent" to those intersections. GOT IT!

Got it! Huge thank you!

When I read your mention of using a fillet I actually recalled seeing that on a video elsewhere. Just so many tricks this program can do. Seems yur only limited by your own imagination! But I just tried using the fillet as you instructed and it worked beautifully.

Along with Johns mention of using "tangents" I learned two more things today! 🙂

Thanks guys!
