Loft vertex count - 4 into 3 into 4

I have 4 vertices on section 1 and 3 on section 2 and then back to 4 on section 3 - crudely a square into a triangle back to a square with 2 corners of the square mapping to the apex of the triangle - Fusion is not happy. In Creo we would create a 4th vertex in the triangle on top of an existing vertex to allow the mapping - is there something similar in 360 or do I have to work around? Cheers.

Can you share an image, perhaps from Creo, that shows the geometry you are trying t create ?

This is not trivial to do in Fusion 360, even with symmetrical sketches.

Peter, you've done it the easy way, with the triangle section in the midplane between both ends.

Here's another version, together with different rectangles at the ends.

My intention was to show that even a simplified case is much more complicated In Fusion 360 than a single, solid loft between three profiles in Creo 😉

That's interesting, if Creo can do that. For comparison I tried with Inventor. There only one side face can be done in an own surface loft. No solution at all with solid lofting.

@WHolzwarth that is not surprising. Inventor and Fusion 360 use the same geometric modeling kernel and I would not be surprised if in some cases they use similar algorithms (not actual code) to implement certain features.
