There is no way to change the Component status that you Pasted New (independent) to a Paste (dependent) after the process is done. You will have to Remove the Paste New component and do another Copy/Paste operation. Any Joints or added features to the Pasted New component will be lost.

Hi, I am designing a structure using a similar method to Lars Christensen's video. I have made new copies of an original component but now want to change the size of the "Paste New" components. Is there a way to do this without starting again?
I have tried rolling back the timeline and editing the original sketch but it only changes the components before I made the copies.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.
Oliver
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH3QWscviBc&ab_channel=LarsChristensen

Can I check… is the issue that only the original component is changing and not the copied ones? Or is it that the change isn’t implemented at all?

@o.mort

now want to change the size of the "Paste New" components. Is there a way to do this without starting again?
I have tried rolling back the timeline and editing the original sketch but it only changes the components before I made the copies.

This is a bit vague. I see two meanings:

1. Do you want to change your original and newly pasted components simultaneously by editing a single sketch? Then no, it's not possible. As @jhackney1972 said, with Paste New your new component is totally and irreversibly independent, as if you've drawn it again.

2. Do you want to change the newly pasted component alone? Then just activate it and change its own sketch. As I said above, it's just like you've drawn it. So it has all the sketches and features that can be edited independently.

One more thing; if you want to somehow change both components simultaneously you can define parameters and replace dimensions of BOTH sketches with these parameters. Then you can control the shape of both components by changing these parameters.
