In THIS Screencast Video, Extend command is not functioning properly.. Unlike Autocad, in Fusion Extend command is taking lots and lots of clicks to join a single and a small line..

Whereas in Autocad, in 1 Click the line gets extended to another line which may be meters away from each other too..

And here to join a 40mm Line its taking me 10-15 clicks..

When using the Sketch Extend command it always will just extend to the next logical intersection. This intersection could be from remote lines you may not consider relevant but there is an intersection so it will stop there. The next click goes to the next one and so on. This is normal, at least in my opinion. The same functionality can be observed in an Inventor sketch. Edit: I might add, in Inventor, you can use the Ctrl key to select from the possible lines you could extend to. This feature is not available in Fusion 360.

I had to click 10-15 times for extending a line upto 40mm...

Imagine how many days it will take me to extend a line that is 9-10 meters away..?

Why not make it similar to Autocad...?? Just one click and it will join to the next visible line and not imaginary points of intersection..?

This does not make any sense. If ever I need to use those imaginary points, I'll just draw line there rather than clicking multiple times... It's simple.. But I don't know why Fusion is made a Simple command so complicated..

A command that is used frequently is not at all user friendly..

Instead of extending 10 or 15 times, just sketch a line from where you want to go to where you need to go. It will be a better sketch in the end.

That, plus a colinear constraint works.

The Extend and Trim commands should have an option to pick where you want to extend to or trim to. Complex sketches are a bitch to use these commands. Check this post from 2016.

Yes. The sketch has been Imported from InkScape.. As I am going to use this for 3D Printing.

But I deleted the Lines that were imported. As they were not single lines. And the Boundary was also not accurate. But have me a rough idea of how the geometry will be like.

So I am just keeping the End Points and making the Sketch from Scratch.. (saves time for deciding the Object height, length, width, etc..)

Fusion is not AutoCAD, and you should not expect them to behave identically. Fusion implemented virtual intersections as a design choice in Sketch Extend. There have been very few complaints about this. I understand your concern and desire, but Fusion is unlikely to change any time soon. Lots of good suggestions here, but, in the list of priorities for Fusion, in all honesty, this is pretty far down the list. I know that is not the answer you want to hear, but this is the reality of Fusion today.

That could have been done. But I am importing the Sketch in .dxf format from InkScape.

And I am doing this as these Models are gonna be used for 3D Printing. And I want an Accurate sketch.

(You might wondering why not import the image in Fusion and trace the Letters or path and create the Sketch).

But it won't give me that exact curves and all.

So I am importing the .dxf file from InkScape and than editing it and creating my 3D Model.

(InkScape does not allow us to edit the Sketch) As far as I know.

And as you said, I am removing all the Rubbish lines, and only keeping the End points. And than joining them to create the Sketch.

So you can also say that the sketch was 80% made in Fusion again.

(But this decreases my time by sitting and deciding where the endpoints of the sketch will be).

And this was not the first time this happened.

The sketches that are Native and made from Scratch in Fusion also have the same issue. So I thought now let me post this on Forums to get an idea why this thing is acting strange with all sketches..?
