Hi @rhetths,

When i solved a Static Stress study, by default i was able to see the 'colour transition' as 'Smooth'.

Is it something different for you?

Can you tell me on which study you are able to see the 'colour transition' as 'banded'

Whenever i have done a static simulation study, as you have done, the default colour transition for me is banded, and i have not found a way to make the default smooth. I don't know why banded is even offered, but that's just me.

The 'Colour Transition' switches to 'Banded' when we apply load on the Edge/Point.

I will get back after reaching out to the development team to know if its an expected behavior or a bug.

Banded is the default for me for all loading types.

Please follow below steps to make 'Smooth' as default 'colour transition'

Solve a simulation study
The Result will be banded by default for you
Go to 'colour transition' and change to 'Smooth'
Suppress and Unsuppress one of the load
Now 'Finish Results'
Solve the study again.

After this all the future studies, 'colour transition' will be 'Smooth'.

Try and let me know if it works

For me also always the default shading of Safety Factor is Banded, which is against this page that states Smooth to be the default for all result types. Following above steps didn't change my default when making a new file.

It has always been the case for me that when i switch it to smooth all future solves in that study are smooth, but any new study is banded. Suppressing and unsuppressing loads has never made a difference to that.
