How to export a flat pattern with embossed text to .dxf

I have a laser cut and folded panel with laser embossed text, I need to export this to send to the laser cutting company, but when I export to .dxf, the text layer is not included.

How do I do this?

I'm sure there must be a simple way, but I'm struggling to find it 😕

Firstly, use the surface with embossed text when selecting Stationary Face for creating the Flat Pattern. Then create a Drawing from your flat pattern. In drawing workspace use 1:1 scale and disable the Title Block. Have Bend Extents option on for bend lines:

Finally, Export Sheet as DXF in Drawing workspace.

Looking at this again, the .dxf generated by the drawing has various undesirable properties for laser cutting (such as line widths), is there any other way to do this and get the accurate paths?

Or quite similar thing but within Flat Pattern, in case you want to have center bend lines (you should select them for projecting):

Thanks for the suggestions, having tried them now, I can confirm that I'm getting the best result from this workflow:

1. Open the flat pattern

2. Right click the surface and 'create sketch'

3. In the sketch, project the surface, (including any 'islands' within the letters) and the bend lines.

4. Finish the sketch

5. Right click the new sketch in the browser and save it as a dxf

6. Use a separate 2D CAD program to move the items manually onto layers as required.

This gave me nice clean paths and also saved the embossed text as outlines (so no issues with missing fonts later).

Does this require some particular subscription of Fusion360? There is no export as DXF option in the menu for me.

Are you currently in an active sketch?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Or at least a screenshot of what you see?

right click on sketch from the browser tree. you don't have to be in an active sketch
