Construct elements not visible after certain amount?

Hi,

I have a problem with the visibility of construct elements.

The problem appears only to exist on the actual screen.

I have created rather a lot of construct elements (mainly planes and some edges and point)

I have some visible, others not (but the general visibility of "Construction" is turned on).

I keep creating an edges and more planes.

But these are not visible on the screen.

They are being created, I can select them in the list and use them, no problem.

I get no errors.

They are just not visible, even though visibilty is turned on.

Is there a limit on these objects?

I didn't find any posts with the same problem, mainly because I only get results about how to turn on/off visibility.

But this is definetly not the case.

I am making a guess but I think you have accidentally turned off your Construction folder instead of turning off the individual construction features. The Screencast will explain.

If this is not the issue, please attach a model showing the problem. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

First of all, thank you for the quick reply.

That is not the problem, I checked it several times before my initial post.

I've attached the model as you mentioned.

It is only the case for the last 17 planes I created (grouped in the timeline) and 1 edge before that.

What else is strange, is that when I create a plane (by selecting to edges), it is visible.

But as soon as I click "OK", it is not visible anymore (on the screen).

But the edge, that gets created by selecting two planes, is not even visible when I'm selecting the planes...

All other constructions from before, I can show and hide without a problem.

It would seem that the creation of a construction feature between ones that was invisible caused an issue. Once I edit one and made the involved construction features visible, all became invisible if you want them to be. It seems to be a glitch in the application.

NOTE: I said I was going to include my model but it does not store the fix. Right click, on the first construction feature that is on but not showing "Normal at Center" and edit it. After this all will be available. I will mention this to Autodesk.

Thanks again.

But the ones that you're indicating actually were already visible.

It are the ones after the invisible plane ("Perpendicular_Plane_Center_Cut")

So it, is the edge "Normal_at_Center_Cut" and all the planes below that, starting with "Prep_Plane....")

The edge that you say, it is now showing up, is not the one that is not showing.

The "Normal_at_Center_Cut" should be perpendicular to the cut in that tube, in the center of the cut.

If you scroll down in the list, you will see the problem items.

I know I mistyped the axis name. Select the first one, that is showing as visible but not and right click and edit it. The related plane it was created from will highlight. After this edit all of the ones you are concerned with will show up. Look at the Screencast where I do this edit.

Sorry to keep replying.

But as soon as you right click on the one with the problem, the treeview scrolls up again.

The "problem"-edge, is just of screen at that moment, as are the planes with the same problem.

I tried the same as you showed in the video and tried to recreate that edge from the same constructions, but then in a visible state.

The planes that you are showing in the video (starting with "Degrees_...") don't have this problem.

It is something with that problem-edge.

Because the planes after that are all created with that edge as one of the references.

I can still create other constructions (with other references...)

I am seeing your difficulty. I have no solution for you, at this time. I have submitted this to the Autodesk Forum representative so we will have to wait to see what he says. In the meantime, I will continue to look at it and hopefully find a workaround. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi John,

Thank you for the support.

I made a workaround by creating a sketch with a construction line.

It is referencing of the same items as the edge I was trying to use, so it will always reference correctly.

I changed the reference edge for the planes to be created, and they now also work fine.

(see attached screenshot)

Software without flaws is yet to be invented, so as long as we can work around problems and they get solved in the end, it's not that bad.
