Project pattern on round and complex surface?

Is there a way to somehow project an extruded pattern on a round and complex surface?
For instance, I would like to create a solid cylinder with sphere sticking out, and then project parallel lines wiht some thickness on top of its surface.

What would be the fastet way to achieve this?

for more parallel lines just make same last tow steps "sketch and project to surface and pattern "
for more smooth use bridge for the faces "pic1" and some "edits form with soft modification"

QQ: did you add all those parallel horizontal planes to align the spheres? Or something else? Is it an optional step right?

@aliobidi if you make enough copies of the cut with the pipe tool, you'll see that that won't result in these even vertical stripes. I stepped into the same trap myself 😉

It's just to produce a point from the intersection of two lines to find out the center

yep you are right , so I mentioned this "for more parallel lines just make same last tow steps "sketch and project to surface and pattern " "just make last two steps again

The ridges are actually rounded both on the outer ridge and the inner gap. Not squared off like a gear. How could you round the ribs? I think a fillet may be computationally intense for 100 ridges?

Here is another designer who does the same "effect" but he says he does it in Solidworks, not Grasshopper, "Extruded cuts and Circular patterns (about 200 cuts)"

Could the fins or ridges be automatically filleted using RULE FILLET command?
