How do I get that sketch plane separate so that I can create a 2nd model off of it? The top and bottom will be two separate pieces. Google just says there is a copy button, but I don't have a copy button, all I have is a move button that lets me make it taller.

Hello, I have this model right here(it's just me messing around, trying to learn what's what.) I want to copy the blue surface so that I can start creating a 2nd model that will fit on top of it, the top model won't be symmetrical to the bottom, it will only have that similar mating surface. So all I need to so get the sketch, then I can start building up from it, but I can't seem to figure out how to work the copy function. Thanks!

You probably want to use the existing blue surface as a sketch plane. You can start sketches on origin planes, construction planes and planar surfaces of bodies.

Edit: the surface, down in the hole will have to be projected into the new sketch.

Select it, right click and select Create Sketch from the right click menu. You will be starting a new body or component from that sketch. You can also Project geometry from the model below. You do not need to copy it. If you have your heart set on placing a sketch plane on that surface. Select the Offset Plane option under the Construction menu, select the surface and enter "0" for the offset distance.
