Please help - repeating patterns

No matter what I do I cannot get the prompt to drag my feature.

I have never used this program before. I am beyond frustrated. Never used CAD.

I am trying to build these speaker boxes in CAD and transpose them to dwg, dxg, stp, or step for the CNC machinist.

Is there a way to to link my project here and someone can copy this feature for me? I just can't beat my head on this any more.

Your file does not have download permissions, please upload your f3d file by going to :-

File > Export > Selecct f3d format > Save to a location on your computer > Then attach to your reply using the "Attachments" facility below your reply box.

Wow, thank you! Initially I thought I had to buy the payware to do this.

Can you tell why I am failing to repeat the feature on "Component16:1"?

I am desperately trying to find a way to repeat things like this without having to sketch the dozens of times.

The project here is line array speakers. 18 mid range speakers and 40 tweeters per enclosure. I am trying to build these speaker boxes in CAD and transpose them to dwg, dxg, stp, or step for the CNC machinist.

No matter what I do I cannot get the prompt to drag the hole/s countersink feature on component 16:1

I have never used this program before. I am beyond frustrated. Never used CAD either. I had no idea how steep the learning curve was to CAD.

I need the feature on component 16:1 to repeat 18 times along its length, but I cannot get repeat to work and I I already drew it once, but realized I had a couple off center and couldn't figure out how to fix it.

I am quite frustrated trying to learn this.

What exactly are you looking for in regards to Component16:1? what is being patterned, how many times, what's the spacing, etc etc

Wow, you make it look easy.

The yellow errors. Yes, I am not sure what they mean.

My wife and I are bringing twins home from the hospital, so I have been away.

Exactly like that. I drew them all individually, but it's so time consuming and so easy to make a mistake. They are all supposed to be identical, and one little fat finger....

I don't know what the yellow errors mean or how to fix them. I have never used a CAD program, so I am making all kinds of mistakes.

yellow (and red) in the timeline indicate errors with those features. they are ticking timebombs when left in the timeline. usually best to correct as they occur. when it happens with an extrude it is usually because the profile reference has been lost. either because the originating sketch was edited, or deleted.

Would it have anything to do with me aligning all the components in a new file?

In my first attempt which these components came from, the components where not all unique under the main project as they are here. Instead they were sub components of components under the main project. Does that make sense?

I think all the yellow showed up when I imported them to this file as their own stand alone components.

Do I need to just start from scratch?

OK, I redid the design from scratch and I have no errors that I can see.

I assume this design is less alarming to the folks who brought up the errors?

Now I will attempt to copy the driver reliefs on the mid-range baffle 18 times and the tweeter baffle 20 times. I will reference the posted video and see if I can get it done.

Hmm, the 1st sketch is quite alarming 😉

It's not properly constrained or dimensioned. In fact, it's not dimensioned at all.

Edit: It also contains multiple overlapping lines.

I mean the latest V6 of your design. While I have a screencast uploading of how I proceed to fix sketch #2 (not #1) I went through the rest of the timeline in your design. Almost all sketches are not dimensioned or properly constrained.

My recommendation would be to go through one of the online courses that can be reached directly from within Fusion 360. Without a solid foundation this has a good chance of ending in a disaster. That is particularly the case if you want to CAM any of this.

Any blue sketch items can be dragged, even by accident and your design is going to self destruct.

These will be converted to step and given to an expert machinist. He may need to move things around.
