i've adjusted the movement and angular increments to 0.0001mm / 0.0001 °, but it's not good enough.

the ability to move the center point and pivot around it is crucial to getting it perfect, and fiddling with the scale numbers and x and y and rotation all at the same time is way too cumbersome to let it stay this way.

every time you move one of those 4 parameters, you have to move the other 3 again, and it just creates a lot more unnecessary work that I've cancelled completely and restarted the process dozens of times.

all it needs to do is act like the move dialog, and it would be 10x better.

the CALIBRATE function is essentially useless without it because you still need to fiddle around with the remaining 3 movement directions.

I couldn't find any Feedback Hub related posts regarding importing canvases to recommend this option so i'll ask here.

Is there a way to change the position of where the edit canvas cross-hair for moving/resizing is located?

Currently I think it defaults to the center of the image, but this becomes really tedious if I'm tracing something that has bolt holes and I am trying to pivot the image around a specific fastener location in order to match it up with some other elements on a sketch so I can do a bit more finely tuned manual calibration.

currently there does not seem to be a way to move the original/control point on the canvas, unless I just don't know how to do it? there is no option to do so like when moving a sketch object using the move dialog box.

That's something that always bothers me, too.
Then I try several times to move millimeter by millimeter in X and Y and shift the image section to see if it's right.

Can you Attach an example file that illustrates where this would be useful?

I understand exactly what you are saying - but sometimes actual examples help to illustrate the issues.

Hi Rushabh,

I thought about doing that, but it would separate the canvas from the component with the sketch, so I guess I will have to nest the two together in separate components inside of another component... which means I have essentially have to start this project from the beginning again.

The only real solution to this problem is to allow moving the origin/selection point on the canvas, but I will mark this as an acceptable solution for the time being, and I hope autodesk makes the necessary changes to improve the canvas functionality.

I find it really annoying that most of the f360 solutions to common problems that have been around for years require the user to be a fortune teller and anticipate what features they will use after investing tens of hours into a design, only to find out that they should have done it another way because of a stupid limitation.

no example needed. it's simple.

if you are trying to scan and recreate something like a gasket that has 4 mounting holes with no particular pattern, and one center hole, trying to get them to all align using two directional arrows and rotating slider, and a very coarse scale adjustment drag point while not being able to select a specific point at which all scaling should branch out from creates unnecessary complexity to a simple function that is already elsewhere in the same application.

just let the user place the point where all the moving/scaling is done from, the same way you can with sketches. forcing the user to move x/y and then adjust angle, and then scale all from a pre-defined point is not intuitive, and is a huge waste of time.
