Hi all,

I tried to import a file i received from someone to Fusion 360. However, i found all the joint features are lost. At the same time, when i import the file to the inventor, the joint feature are preserved, Is that the limitation for FS360?

As far as I know STEP contains only geometry and RGB appearance information.

STEP is just geometry. No joint, sketch, feature or timeline representation is exchanged via STEP. Just geometry, and component structure. If you are exchanging Fusion data with another Fusion user, use "Fusion Archive (F3D, F3Z)" as a format - this will preserve all of the parametric data.

I am working with someone as well who is using Fusion 360 and I am using Solidworks. He exports in STEP file format and when I open in solidworks there are elements missing to the Part/Assembly. This started after the last time he updated. We have tried multiple ways to correct it, but still having problems. This might be unrelated, but wanted to mention.

I am importing to and exporting from STEP files into Fusion 360 on average twice a week. This often includes rather large assemblies (1000+ components).

I've not come across situations where things are missing, either on import, or export.
