Fusion Drawing, how to get a "thru" hole in hole and thread notes.

My question is, when doing a ASME drawing from a CAD model, and I have a couple of thru holes, how do I get the "hole and thread note" to actually say thru instead of the distance? I do realize I can edit the block and change it to thru, but it would be a lot faster if fusion just did it for me. Thank you guys for your time in advance.

When you create the hole you need to set the depth to all.

One follow on question though, when I model a tapped hole, (not selecting Modeled) it doesn't seem to work. It does work with all normal holes thu. Any ideas? Or is this an ANSI standard not to do that?

What exactly is the question? Are you trying to add a hole note to a hole feature that has modelled threads, or is the thread manually created (i.e modelled with a helix)?

It's a modeled hole using the hole command of which I have it as M3 x .5 for tapping. I did not have the modeled box checked. When doing the drawing and using the hole note command, it does not recognize "all" to generate a thru in the note box. But it will work if it's just a normal hole, ie not tapped. My goal / question is how do I use the hole command and have it recognize it as a thru hole and label it properly. And just for info, these holes are created using all in the "extents" section.

@ClintBrown3D Picture should make it clear. Both holes where made with the hole tool, both set to All for the depth. The threaded hole doesn't have THRU in the note but the total thickness of the part.

This hole note designation is "as designed". The Thread depth is always specified.

My understanding, is that per the AMSE Y14.5 standard, specifying a thread depth as "thru" is not the preferred method.

You can always edit the note to suit your requirement.

Is it the same for my example above? I have the thread depth set to 15mm but the hole is through.

Also does the note pickup its details from the thread XML file and if it does can it pickup the drill size instead of the minor diameter?

This is the info in the thread XML.
