You can create your own Concrete Material in minutes.

One thing you will have to consider is just like steel or aluminum - there are many different concretes with different material physical properties.

My request was addressed to Autodesk. Question why I need to spend the time to create my own concrete material when concrete is one of the most common construction materials on the planet.

Concrete is mainly a Building Construction material. This is why it probably was not included in the material library of a Mechanical Design application.

I don't accept that concrete being a building construction material as the reason for it's not being included in material library. Stone, slate, marble etc are building materials which are included.

I agree. A Concrete Physical Material (not an Appearance) would be nice.

Ah yes, and therein lies the real dilemma of creating Custom Physical Materials that nobody seems to want to address in any detail, maybe because it is so difficult. I have watched numerous videos on how to find the Properties for a material but the only thing I have heard is that they can often be found on Manufacture's websites. Yeah right, try it. Try to find properties for the materials used in things like Quikrete High Strength Concrete Mix, or Simpson Strong-Tie's SDWS Exterior Grade Timber Screw along with their connectors. Good Luck! If anyone succeeds, I would sure like to know how they did it.

I have spent countless hours trying to find properties for materials to no avail. If I am lucky enough to find anything remotely close to what I am looking for, the terminology used for the material is different from what Fusion 360 wants when creating a new material. I am not an Engineer or Scientist, so I give up in frustration.

What will you use the material for - what do you need to know?

Can you hire an Engineer for this purpose?

There is no Easy Button solution.

I am designing a new deck to replace the old one on my home. No big deal but having the correct properties for my materials would be helpful. Hiring an Engineer is out. I just find it frustrating that there is very little useful information concerning material properties. And before anybody says it, I know Fusion 360 is not for Architectual design but, maybe it should expand to include those functions as well.

Since my last post I researched Concrete which led me to some information that I used to create a Concrete Material. Again, I found the parameters provided for the M25 Concrete were not what Fusion 360 wanted to be input but I noticed that if I entered them in the Material Dialog the way they were provided to me from the information I found, Fusion 360 seemed to automatically convert them to the required format, I just hope they are correct & accurate. But again, if there was any good, detailed information available on creating Physical Materials, I would have probably already known that. I have the same issue when creating Sheet Metal Rules. I can't seem to find good information concerning K-Factor & Bend Radius for the material I am using. I sure wish there was an Easy Button or at least some guidance in this complicated process. I'm too old to start Engineering School.

I've got to agree, why have 4 options for different types of Pine and not even a Concrete option.

To provide a BOM to the contractor with the correct materials which meet code. Also, for pricing those materials.
