Imported Part has a bad surface

Hello everybody,

I am working on this part that was imported from another source. After giving the part a look over or two i noticed that there were a few gaps in the surfaces and it looks like some areas that the surfaces go into each other. I have tried the stitching option and it wont let me do anything. I have tried merging a few of the surfaces which has resulted in success in a few areas but it made things worse in other areas. I ran into this problem when i tried to cut into the surface and it gave me the message "wire being deleted crosses face boundary." im not sure if one problem is related to the other but i figure i give the most amount of detail possible.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

or better yet...

the original file.
