@deepauli.pulate I know about this method, but it doesn't help me because I need to place my element in certain spots and not in certain distances from each other. The distances may vary in both, x and y directions. I could approximate it if I just use pattern command and crank the values up so that in any case one instance overlays the correct position, but then I have to manually deselect/suppress hundreds of instances. Doesn't seem very practical.

Is it possible to repeat an object at user defined positions? I need something like rectangular or circular pattern but I want to choose the positions myself.

Compare the following screenshot: You can see that I have LED chips at the indicated position. Now I want to place the dome-shaped structure above each of them. How can I do this efficiently?

For Example, try to use Pattern along the path.

Thank you I just tried it but I don't seem to be able to get it to work. I can't select multiple joints from "Add joints to selected JointOrigins". The window pops up and once I select JointOrigins they're not acknowledged by the plugin. Is there another built-in solution maybe?

Nope. Unfortunately the pattern tools in Fusion 360 are pretty lacking compared to other CAD tools.

I think I have to go with this solution 😕 Is there a shortkey to deselect all / exempt all from being calculated? Then I just have to reselect the ones that need to be drawn again which would be much faster..

That would be neat but the part is designed in another program so I can't do that unfortunately!

If the chips are instanced components, then @etfrench's suggestion should work.

If I understood your question properly then, Yes we have, Please refer the attached video along with this.

We have suppress option in the dialog itself, you can go to geometry and just uncheck the checkbox for feature that needs to be suppressed.

I hope this resolves your issue!
