Subcomponent not updating in main assembly

Hello, I'm self taught in Fusion360, so go easy on me if this is a dumb question.

I have a sub-assembly that won't visually update in my main assembly. I make a change to the sub-assembly, make sure the movements are captured and saved. Then in the main assembly, it shows the component out of date, but when I update it, the movement I made in the sub-assembly doesn't show(pictures below) I've tried a few things already. I went into modify and selected compute all on the sub-assembly. Nothing. I also cleared my local cache. I'm sure this is something small I'm missing. Any help is appreciated.

Do not move components (by dragging them in the viewport or using the move command) to create assemblies. Use assembly joints to assemble components.

edit: I used joints for the first time. That's super cool. It fixed the problem. Thank you! 🙂
