aligning to the origin

Pretty new to Fusion 360, I just want to align the bottom center of this object to the origin.

I am having terrible difficulty with it.

I'll appreciate any help.

I was unable to use your model because my version of Fusion is out of date and I am unable to update it at the moment, but all you would have to do is use the move command select the point to point option, turn on the origin, and select which part of the component you want to move to the origin with the first point and then with the second point, select the origin. Attached is a screenshot to show what I am explaining.

2 choices.

1-ideally you fix the underlining processes that create an object. in this case start with the first sketch (put the circle at the origin) and edit the extrudes.

2-you can also apply a joint between the component and the origin.

The file has 2 bodies and it seems like they're not attached. So when I try align, it does something crazy.
What I tried after was to make those 2 bodies into components and create something called rigid group, and I'm not sure what's going on.

using "align" or "move" is generally not suggested for problems like this. those commands have there place, but are generally using for cleaning up a DM model. the wreck havoc on parametric models.

you have 2 bodies and 2 components (1 body in each). do you want 2 bodies?

the rigid command you used will keep components together, not the bodies. ie it keeps the component origins locked in the same relative position to each other. The bodies are free to move around with in the component.

when your doing the align, you are probably trying to align a body, which moves the body around with in it's own component.

You have been given the answer to your Forum question by others but I feel you are a bit lost in the process. I created a Screencast of realignment of the sketches to the origin and the X-Y Plane. My method is not the only way but it gets the job done. One thing you need to read about is Rule #1 which helps you organize your models by creating the component early so all sketches and bodies fall below the related component. Also, aways model to the origin in the first place to avoid your issues. Model is attached.

Wow, so it wasn't an easy fix. It seems like it involved whole another branch of knowledge to solve this...

This would never have happened in the first place if you had followed Rule #1 so be sure to read the linked post in my reply.
