Mesh Section Sketch Workflow Questions

In order to create an outline of the floor plane in a cargo van 3D Scan, I had to cut three Mesh Section Sketches. There just was not one precise plan that captured all the outlines.

Now I want to to combine those all into one sketch and I'm noticing a bunch of things, mainly these Mesh Sections don't work like other sketches:

You cannot save a Mesh Section Sketch as DXF.
You can not edit the sketch (OK, I understand that it is derived from the Mesh), but you also cannot copy the sketches to move to a new file or to combine the sketches.
When adding to the sketch, none of the lines from the mesh are available to the new sketch shapes, you cannot

Is there a know workflow to export or reuse mesh section sketches as references to create other objects?

I think the Screencast will show what you are looking for. Make sure you are editing the sketch containing the MeshSection to see the commands.
