Why can't I split and remove without it reverting ?

I have a project I'm working on. I split a body by a plane, then when I delete the body I do not want the original body is back in the project. I've done this again and again and always the same thing happens, why ?

I've attached the project, if I select **HubBase**, then **Modify** choose **Split Body**, **Body to Split** I choose **HubBase**, **Splitting Tool(s)** I click on **HubBase** from **Construction**, then click **OK**.

In the **Bodies** I now have **HubBase(1)** which is the top section I don't want and **HubBase** is the bottom part I want to keep. If I then right click **HubBase** and choose **Delete** a dialog appears **Deletion Warning**:

"This feature is referenced by other features in the timeline. Are you sure you want to delete?"

Yes I want to delete it, so I click **Delete**, Then the original model reappears in the project before the split.

There is a Huge difference between Delete and Remove,

Remove works as you're expecting, Delete shoots off a warning to confirm.

You know you can fix yellow Icons with the Undo Key - right?

Because you are Deleting.

“delete” deletes all traces of the object and it’s parent from the entire timeline. It is an operation and not a feature and you won’t find a new icon for it in the timeline.

“remove” only removes the object from that point forward in the timeline and there is a new “remove” feature icon in the timeline for it.

Q1. Do you want to learn how to use Fusion correctly? Your Timeline is full of unresolved issues that have been highlighted so that you cannot possibly miss these issues.

2. The answer to this question is No. The correct operation is Remove, not Delete.
