hi there,

i have 3735229 polygons in my OBJ 3d-model, more then enough to make my object look smooth in render canvas. now I wanna go for the real render settings on the tea cup in fusion 360. when I finished the render the object gets triangles. I mean how?? can someone explain me?

thankyou!

The effect you see is very likely due to Z-Fighting. So check you model for duplicate geometry. That might require using a polygon/mesh/Sub-D modeling software such as Blender etc.

hi there,

sorry but how do you mean using blender? render with blender or just import / export the model for another filetype? I used 3dm and iges files on fusion and it worked really well! I prefer the autodesk render facility.

btw, thank you for your response!

@louisG8UJ3 wrote:
sorry bit i'am still a beginner, I was thinking about dielectric priority control

No, that only helps assigning priorities to (clearly) overlapping solid geometry (no meshes) with transparent materials.

Think about liquid in a glass. the glass and liquid have different indexes of refraction (IOR). To render that properly in Fusion 360 and many other render engines, the geometry must overlap. The Dielectric priority then is used to prioritize the glass over the liquid.

The problem with your data set is that its a mesh that perhaps has duplicate mesh bodies in it. One of them has to be removed and I am not sure that Fusion 360 can do that. Blender can, and perhaps also Meshmixer.
