how to add individual mesh triangles to a specific face group?

I've imported an STL and ran Create Face Groups. All looks well except for a few errant triangles that have landed in an adjacent face group. I'd like to reassign those triangles to a different (but existing) face group. Is there some way to accomplish this?

you have to be in direct edit-

then you can select the face groups you want to combine, and run "create face group" on them-

I am not at my Fusion machine to verify at the moment, but I don’t think that is still the case.

That created a NEW face group - I wanted to "move" some triangles from one face group to another face group.

yes and no. you can combine whole face groups together without going into direct edit, using "combine face groups". but if you need to separate individual faces out of a group, you have to go into direct edit.

they're all part of the SAME facegroup now aren't they? the effect is the same.

sorry, glossed over a detail (I do most of this stuff on autopilot). you need to seperate the offending faces first (that part has to be in direct edit mode), and then compinet that with the proper group. here's a simple example-
