How do I get the circumference and length of arc of an ellipse?

In a 2D drawing, or a sketch, how do I determine the circumference of an ellipse, or the length of an arc of an ellipse? Surely there is a way, but its very well hidden!

Hi,

1. INSPECT > measure

2. CONSTRUCT > Point along path: Proportional 1 = Physical max. lenght

The measure tool will also measure a section or a complete ellipse of a sketch. 2D drawings can not dimension an ellipse.

Thanks for that. When I used Inspect/Measure in a sketch I got a little window saying "Select objects to measure. Hold Shift to remove snap points. Hold Ctl to lock snap points." but nothing else - no length at all. Prompted by your response I tried several times, and then a length was displayed. It turned out that the lower section of the measurement window is not always shown - there's a little scrollbar on the right that I hadn't noticed. Sometimes the short version is displayed and the important length measure isn't visible until you scroll, and sometimes the long version is shown together with the measurement. Why should it change?

I recall that, once upon a time, the measurement could be copied to the clipboard, but I can't do it now. WShat am I missing?

Just clicking the number on the inspect tool should copy to the clipboard. Is that not working for you?

Prompted by your response and despite getting no feedback from Fusion, I tried pasting after clicking, and it worked! I expected to get some sort of feedback after clicking (like it used to) but get absolutely nothing at all. I'm certain that it used say something like 'copied to clipboard', but now it does nothing. But it does, indeed, copy.

Correct, Originally you would be invited to copy to clipboard - if hovering over a value a flyout would appear to announce the option. Must have been too much overhead and that has been removed now.
