topic how to "Non-Uniform Scale" 3 connected bodies for 3d printing? in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

I have three bodies which will be aligned in the Slicer such that when they are 3d printed (each with different perimeter/infill settings) they will form a single part.

According to the characteristics of my printer/material (ABS) I need to increase the size of the part by 0.9% in the XY directions and 0.4% in the Z

It is clear how to use the Non-Uniform Scaling dialogue box to set the scaling, BUT HOW TO CHOOSE THE POINT ABOUT WHICH TO SCALE?

I don't understand the consequences of point selection, but can see that there are some. Should I scale each of the three bodies separately (about their own respective points)? Or scale them all at the same time about a single point?

can anyone explain how to choose a "point" when performing non-uniform scaling? What makes one point better than another?

thanks for the video

So does that mean that it doesn't matter which point you choose, the part itself will always turn out the same larger version of itself according to the x, y, z parameters? That the only thing that changes - according to the point selected - is the POSITION IN SPACE of the resultant part?

(I've read in the forums about people desperately wanting to select the "centre of mass" of their part, but I don't quite understand why. Presumably they have a reason?)
