Mesh convert

Hello,
I am having some issues and i can't do it right when i am trying to convert this mesh file into a solid body.
Can someone help me with that please.

I want to make changes on the model(like extrude etc.).
I tried to do it with the prismatic option but it did not worked propertly...
In the file attached i show you that my model is not proper converted.
So i want to have a solid body.

In your original post you simply asked for someone to help you convert your STL mesh to a solid body which I did and sent it to you. Then you "modify" your request to get a "prismatic" solid body. I have reconstructed the model using Mesh Sections, it is attached.

Please do not forget to select the Accept Solution icon or ask further questions.

This geometry is too complex in curvature for the prismatic conversion to to work. You'll have to remodel this from scratch!

The mesh in your screenshot looks like a quad mesh modeled in a Sub-D modeler. You would not use the mesh workspace to convert that into a triangular mesh as that would be complete nonsense.

You would convert this into a T-Spline.

who said anything about Triangles. I do this conversion your years now into SW. Just the menu seems odd to me. thanks anyway.

I think you did not understand a word of what I wrote!

Could you create a screencast of how you do this in SW so we can suggest how this might work in Fusion 360 ?

If you want help, a concise and cohesive description of what you are trying to achieve goes a long way.

The mesh convert you are referring to in your screenshot in the default setting (prismatic) will automatically triangulate your nice quad mesh and then convert each of these triangulate facets BRep consisting of 1-degree NURBS surfaces.

That creates a very "heavy" solid model and I have a feeling that isn't what you want.

@TrippyLighting - this post has been edited due to Community Rules & Etiquette violation.

The "convert mesh" is in the mesh workspace and the "Convert" menu to convert a quad mesh requires a user to first create a new form and then convert the quad mesh there into a T-Spline. However, whether a mesh is triangulated, or not, it's still a mesh.

When a user inserts a mesh it is only natural that they'd be looing in the mesh workspace to convert the mesh.

Could the conversion to a T-Spline be added to the mesh workspace for easier discoverability ?
