Adding Inside lip to complex edge

Hello,

I'm trying to add a lip to the inside of this part. The lip would be small enough that it would allow the item to be inserted, but offer some resistance to remove it. I have a few features which don't allow me to make a lip cross-section and sweep the feature. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have no idea if my lip in in the right place or not but I thought I would submit it. You can adjust it length it protrudes from the inside surface by adjusting the Offset Face feature second from the end of the timeline. Model is attached.

Thanks for your input and attempt. I see where you used the surface tool which is something I don't have experience with. I will give it a try. The lip you put in is actually not quite in the right place. attached is a picture of what I was going for.

It should follow the curve of the top of the part.

Following the top edge contours is going to be rough due to the way you created the top edge. It has a roll in it which you have already found out does not support a sweep. Can this roll, where the lower edge rises to the top edge on the curve, be modified?

I actually don't need the lip on the outside edge, but the inside.

I see what you mean about the way that curve was cut. I may be able to make a chamfer rather than rotating a slot which is how it's made now.

I don't have time so I only have a screenshot of how to do it.

Copies a surface with an offset.

Extend the edge of the surface.

Add thickness to the surface.

Combine the body.

Chamfer at the entrance.

The cross section looks like this.

The areas that are not needed can be increased or decreased in the offset face, or cut later with Extrude.

The size of the snagging can be controlled by the distance and thickness of the surface to be extended.

I personally prefer this level of protrusion.
