I'm trying to place a group of LEDS on a the center of a PCB.

I've joined the LEDs under a rigid group but when trying to do a rigid join between 2 faces I can only select a face from a single object in the rigid group were I would like to select the side face from the first element and the last face from the last element.

I may have this all wrong as I'm coming from Solidworks. What would be the right way to do this?

Tnx

solid works mates, and fusion joints have similar functions, but they don't function the same way. you will have to develop different strategies when using fusion.

between faces for joint placement only works when both faces are in the same component.

a possibility might be to place a sketch in the led strip component with a point at the center of the led grouping. then use that for your joint placement.

Hi,

This way you can use the center of a pattern to create a rigid joint.

For me, Fusion360 has a long way to go in terms of joints, at least rigid joints. I understand what the guys at Autodesk are trying to do but it seems Solidworks mates are much better as they take all the 'heavy-lifting' away from the user and solves the mate were with Fusion360 I have to put much more thought in how to do the joint and what additional constructions I might need in order to do the joint correctly, of course without manually aligning the parts, putting in numbers or dragging the mouse.

Hi,

1. I use the center of the rectangle as joint position
Since the rectangle is bound to the pattern by 2 projected points, these can be varied in number and spacing as desired without losing the center point.

2. It is, as almost always, a matter of getting used to it
