I'm wondering if there is a relatively easy way to cut the complex hull of an object out from another object. In the image below, I have a target body (A), and a cutting body (B). Keep in mind that these are very simple objects just as an example. But I'd like a way to cut out the entire volume of object B from object A without having to recreate the primitive outline of the existing shape. Obviously, for a simple situation such as the one shown, I could easily extrude out a matching volume as shown in object C. But if I use the combine/cut tool, I obviously end up with Object D as the result. I'm just wondering if there is a way to get result C without manually recreating the hull outline of object B as another separate body used just for the cutting operation.

Relating what your pics show, body D will be 2 bodies and the internal “new result” will / can be Removed, to get back to a C body.

Unless I have missed something, would relate to any body B.

Might help…

Hi! Or create a zero-distance offset surface from the tool outside faces. Then use the surface to cut body A.

Many thanks!
