Is it possible to create two lines of text on the top and bottom of a circular path where both lines are right-side up, i.e. they're both right-reading (see below)? As far as I can tell, I'd have to enter both lines in the same command, so I couldn't flip just one of them. I'm also unable to select the circle the first line rides on to enter a separate second line on it.

Hi,

For a more precise positioning of the text, I would limit the path and then use the "Fit to path" option for the text.

Not to take credit away from these examples by no means, but one thing I do when creating wrapping text like this is I also use construction lines so its not hugging the bottom, or top, line then I hide/delete, the construction line. Just to give it a little space between the circles. You could also use the create an arc as was pointed out earlier and turn it into a construction line, which is what I did, but you could place it more towards the center to center up the text. These arcs are placed at 6.375" with a .394" text so its not centered.

In my opinion, the inability to control which side of a path the text is drawn on is a pretty glaring absence. The effort involved in using two curves is tolerable when you have exactly two pieces of text, but when you have N pieces of text (and N > 5)? It's a complete nightmare. I'm tempted to do my text layout in Illustrator/Inkscape, convert the text to paths/outlines, and then import it as a DXF or something like that. I've been fighting with this for too long. We already have horizontal and vertical flip controls, why not a "side of path" flip control. Seems like a pretty bad oversight. Oh well.

-Ian
