cannot adjust control point spline in a sketch

Hi All,

I've created 3 sketches and want to use them to cut a pattern on 3 bodies, as shown.

Thing is, I want to adjust the relevant sketch to adjust the corresponding body, but when trying to edit the sketches, I cannot seem to adjust the shape.

could my workflow of copy then paste be preventing me making any adjustments?

Hi,

The reason:
The sketch elements are offset from the sketch plane and thus represent a 3D sketch.
Either you move the elements into the plane (Move to plane) or you move the point via "move".

Thanks for that it worked, however id like to stack the bodies, as seen, without having to move them each time

I want to make an adjustment. I don't want the bodies on top of each other, as i plan to laser cut different shapes stacked on top to give a depth effect to the shape. How can I do this?

Hi,

If you want to edit the control points by clicking on them, you must create a sketch for each shape on a separate layer (e.g. Offset).

Create an offset plane for each sketch. Just right click a document origin and select offset plane.

sketches don't need to be on the same plane that extrudes start or start on. in fact it's usually desirable to keep sketches on origin planes when ever possible. and you definitely don't want to move sketches off their planes planes, creating 3d sketches, in most cases. offset planes are frequently unnecessary also. see attached-
