Hello,

I have runned into a problem and I am wondering what would be the most efficient way to go about this.

I have and icodome structure as seen in the pictures and I would like to create holes for the connection of the separate plates at the intersection points. Since there are quite a few plates, it would be quite difficult to do it in a manual manner. Is there any way to automate this process or make it faster? Thanks!

Kind regards,

Ignas

If that Icodome would be modeled as a large, patterned arrangement of a hand full of components, this would be easy.

This would be easier to answer if you could share the model.

Here is a sample file of the situation. Currently the icosphere is being created by importing a .stl file, generate face groups and converting the mesh to parametric prismatic components.

In that case you're out of luck. All the geometry ends up being solid bodies, so you cannot take advantage of component properties.

I have recreated the design with singular components and bunch of circular patters. Is there a possibility to cut a hole in one of the instances of the component and make it propagate through all of them? Or what would be the approach in such a situation?

A change to one component instance automatically propagates to all instances.
