To model the wooden frame for your skateboarding bowl in Fusion 360, begin by creating a sketch on the desired plane. Use sketch tools to draw the frame's outline, ensuring dimensions and proportions align with your vision. Apply constraints to define the sketch fully. Exit sketch mode and select "Extrude" from the "Create" menu. Choose the frame's sketch and specify the desired extrusion distance for thickness. Adjust additional settings if needed, preview the extrusion, and make any necessary modifications. Confirm the operation to generate the 3D solid representation of the wooden frame.

Hi,

I'm a beginner teaching myself Fusion360 to model a skateboarding bowl for a project. So far I've made great progress and have been getting a good hand on the modeling features of the program, however I've gotten stuck on how to best model the next stop of my project. I'm attempting to creating a wooden frame to go underneath my bowl, and I'm stumped on what the next step would be.

I've experimented with using the emboss tool, project tool, and the pattern on path tool, with no luck. I figured I may want to reach out and ask if any more experienced users may be able to point me in the right direction. I've attached my file below, along with a reference photo thats illustrates what I'm trying to go far.

Any tips and help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

For want of better names,

horizontal members I will call battens,

vertical members, ribs.

The battens would be Sweep command, running the batten profile around the bowl shape.

The ribs, a few different shapes, Extrude one and rectangular pattern the ones between the columns, and circular pattern the column members.

Might help....

Have you had a look at Autodesk Slicer for Fusion 360? It is way too good for Autodesk to no longer support it! (still available, however) https://youtu.be/73GTmy5oBEQ

Are you emulating that inverted support look? ie narrow at base?...I think that Skate bowl is rim supported isnt it?
