Hello! ( I am a beginer )

I am struggling to merge these two imported shapes, it wont let me select a Target Body. Then once I get the shapes merged I would like the final shape be in the form of the sketched outline.

How do I go about combining the shapes?

How do I edit the final outline of the shape?

Any help would be greatly appritated!

You can't edit importes components before you have broken its link.

Another option if you don't want to break the like is use Boundary Fill set to new component. Make sure you have the top level component active so the new component is create there. Done like this you maintain the link to the original design so edits propagate down. You also might want to investigate using Derive rather than Insert as you can then edit the derived bodies.

How do I edit the final outline of the shape?

Once the 2 bodies are combined in the new component just create a sketch and project the face into the sketch. Be careful if you create the sketch on a face as the default is to automatically project edges so you don't need to do it again.

Most users turn the auto project off as it tends to project more than you need and clutter up sketches.
