Sweep using edge of circle, not center?

Hi there,

As with everyone else, I'm really new to Fusion 360. I'm creating a simple, organic shape that is vine-like in appearance. I've gotten it exactly how I want it to be - I created a spline that is basically an "S" shape with one end ending in a spiral. I used a circle perpendicular to this spline and swept it along the sketch, and used a negative taper to the end that has the spiral. So far, everything's great.

One thing I noticed was that the sweep-and-taper sweeps the center of the circle on the spline, which means that as it tapers, the sides of the circle get smaller towards the center as it goes along. What I want is for one edge of the circle to stay on the bottom plane, and as it moves along, the circle shrinks to the edge on the plane (not the center), so the bottom remains flat to the surface. As it stands now, the side I want flat to the surface is "lifting" a bit as it tapers, which will force me to use supports when I go to 3D print this (which I want to avoid doing).

I tried using a "guide", but that failed miserably. (Could be I'm doing it wrong.)

Anyone have any tips on how I can make this adjustment? Thanks so much 🙂

(In the attached pictures is the item I'm creating, and then the same item turned to "face front". I want the sides where the arrows are to line up flat. Hopefully that makes my question a bit clearer.)

Please attach your model. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I believe I understand what you want. I added a construction plane, which is tangent to the bottom of the large end of the body. I recreated the model so that the small end is also tangent, on the bottom, to this same plane. I left the plane on so you can see. I have attached the model.

Edit: Just in case you are not able to read the timeline, I changed from a Sweep to a Loft.
