I am trying to create a 3d printable shoe bed. The surface is defined by a T-spline, the closed loop outline is a sketch profile created with tangent arcs and a couple of lines. The side wall is a constant height extruded from the same outline. This is a long term one off for 1 person. Lots of tweaks to the outline and individual L and R surfaces for perfect fit but no need for different sizes once this part is done. With that said I am on prototype #6 with a day or two per of editing. The bodies created will be used as a base feature in another set of files.

Currently I just manually adjust the edge of the form to intersect the profile as close and smooth as possible. I have several sketch profiles closely offset from the intended one to help with manual aiming. This works but is very time consuming even for minor changes to the outline. I have also tried match and pull commands with various kinds of extrusions of the sketch. Those tend to twist and loop the surface.

Is there another work flow I should be using? Alternatively, if I can get it just close enough is there a better way to smooth out the edges? Fillet fails or creates a very uneven edge. Wide screen shot shown has a sweep cut to try and even things out. I have not figured out how to smooth those cuts.

Hi! Another approach to consider is to create a surface to cut off the unwanted portion. Then use Full Round Fillet to smoothen the sharp edges. Please share the f3d file here, so that the forum experts can help take a closer look.

Many thanks!

Thank you, I tried it before and again this morning. That method fails with "Match failure, multiple edge chains selected in either the T-Spline or target selections. Please try re-selecting a single edge chain."

If I only do one edge at a time the OK will not activate. I am uploading a file in a reply below.

I am kind of doing that with an extrude. A plane at the same level as the sketch will have the same problem, as you can see in the file any variation from the sketch line creates a waviness. Fillet makes this waviness worse.

I Think I can combine the cut sweep with a combine sweep to get the edge to look and feel better. I still need to get the surface "close enough" and I assumed match or pull should be able to do this.

Thank you.
