Can't seem to move/align the way I need to

Hey All,

I am trying to align one component to another in my design. I can't seem to find a way to rotate to a face (see pic) around a particular axle. I can figure out how to Move/Copy and rotate in degrees, but I want one face tangent or touching another. Is this possible?

Also the origin got funky on the body that I am trying to rotate. I can't seem to find a way to get it back where it needs to be. When I try the origin and the component moves. Any thoughts?

Components should always be joined together with the Joint tool.
Align is the wrong method in almost all cases and should be avoided.

Thank you, I tried joints as well. I still can't figure a way to rotate around the axle to a particular point.

Is there a way to do that in joints?

Looking at your screen capture, the curved surface and the shaft below to the same Body. Unless you are pointing to the the wrong surfaces, this cannot be done. The curved surface and the shaft need to below to separate components.

Sorry, since I have problems to delete files from f3z files completely, I don't download zipped files.
To export files with imported components as f3d, you have to break their links.

Okay, I broke the link and created a f3d file. Attached.

These are two different components. The post that I am trying to rotate too, is the "soft jaw" component, and the part that I am trying to rotate is the "tumbler" component.

Sweet! Thank you Seth. I am trying to find a way to download that mp4 file to add it to my fusion tricks folder. So far I can't figure out a way. But I did book mark it.

It took a second to see what you did by making that post a rigid relationship with the base. After that everything worked.

This is so helpful as I am going to be fixturing this part 2 more times to cut the notches across the body.
